Net University is our flagship project that was introduced in 2012. We saw an opportunity to help senior citizens to be part of the digital world that is continuously progressing.  We deliver beginner/intermediate iPad and beginner Android training classes in partnerships with City of Joondalup and Wanneroo libraries. In each class, the participants learn about the basic use of their own devices and how to access online library services such as e-reading by working through our training manual.

Participation has grown from 8 in our first class in 2012 to 205 (for twelve months) in 2016 and Enactus ECU has enjoyed the challenge of meeting very high demand for courses. We have successfully gained a partnership with UniBank during the 2015/2016 periods where we designed an online banking manual exclusively for their senior members.

Due to the fast growth of technology, we have our sights set on creating new modules for our seniors. Our friendly approach makes learning more enjoyable and easier to comprehend. Our goal is to minimise the gap between our seniors and today’s technology, showing them the many benefits, enabling them to reconnect with their love ones using internet based applications such as Skype and Facetime.

Our Net Uni classes are becoming increasingly popular. It is important to book your place in a class to avoid disappointment. To book your place, contact City of Joondalup Library on (08) 9400 4751 and City of Wanneroo on (08)9405 5900.
