NET UNIVERSITY

According to Scamwatch in 2019 alone 142 billion Australian dollars was lost to scams. The most common themes of these scams were false investments, malicious remote access, and deceitful romance & dating. As digital technologies evolve, services continue to move online, and the gap in digital literacy remains a pressing social issue.

This is where Net University comes in. Since Net University’s inception into the Joondalup, Wanneroo, Girawheen, and Clarkson libraries in 2013, the project has impacted over 1227 individuals, a majority of whom were senior citizens. The project offers five training modules that cover: iPhone, iPad, Android, Communication (Facebook, Facetime, Skype, etc), and cybersecurity.
